Schwarz Digits is expanding the data and AI ecosystem of its STACKIT cloud platform to include Celonis, infodas and Snowflake. Both partnerships were announced at the Cloud X Summit in Wiesbaden and are intended, according to the company, to give enterprise customers additional choice among AI and data platforms without tying them to a single vendor.
Schwarz Digits, the IT and digital division of the Schwarz Group, announced the expansion of its Data & AI partner ecosystem at the Cloud X Summit by STACKIT, held at the RheinMain CongressCenter in Wiesbaden on September 17, 2026. By integrating data and AI specialists Celonis and Snowflake, the company is broadening the Data & AI ecosystem of its sovereign cloud platform STACKIT. According to the company, customers will gain access to additional European and global AI and data platforms without having to forgo sovereign infrastructure.
Schwarz Digits positions STACKIT as a European alternative to US-based hyperscalers, targeting enterprise customers and public-sector institutions with heightened requirements around data protection and digital sovereignty.
According to Schwarz Digits, the move marks the start of a broader portfolio expansion in which further data and AI partners are to be added to the STACKIT ecosystem over time. Corporate customers and public-sector organizations are meant to be able to flexibly combine AI tools and connect them to existing IT architectures without becoming dependent on individual vendors. Bernd Wagner, Chief Sales Officer at Schwarz Digits, is quoted as saying that for the company, digital sovereignty does not mean technological isolation but rather access to leading key technologies on a sovereign platform.
The platform of Celonis, a company specializing in operational intelligence, is to be made available as a single-tenant solution on STACKIT infrastructure. Celonis positions its Context Model as the foundation for the productive use of AI in complex business processes; according to the companies involved, the STACKIT cloud has demonstrated in test series that it meets the compute performance and latency requirements for such process-intelligence applications. Delivery is planned via three parallel sales channels: directly through STACKIT, through Celonis, and through joint partners. Celonis CEO Florian Schewior is quoted as saying that Schwarz Digits provides the sovereign, high-performance cloud infrastructure while Celonis supplies the platform for effective AI deployment.
In parallel, Schwarz Digits and Snowflake, the AI data cloud company, announced their intention to collaborate strategically, with technical integration to proceed in successive stages. In the initial phase, customer data will be stored at STACKIT in the open-source Apache Iceberg format and encrypted via the STACKIT Key Management System, allowing customers to manage their encryption keys themselves within the STACKIT infrastructure. According to the companies, this approach is intended to ensure that customer data remains accessible and usable even if the primary technology provider is unavailable. In later stages, both companies state they aim to run Snowflake’s AI Data Platform natively on the STACKIT cloud so that data storage and processing remain entirely on European infrastructure. Jonah Rosenboom, Country Manager Germany at Snowflake, describes the collaboration as a milestone for customers in the DACH region and across Europe with high compliance and data-protection requirements.
According to a blog post published by Snowflake, STACKIT aims to become Europe’s leading sovereign cloud provider, positioning itself as a “European hyperscaler”; the company operates its own data centers in Germany and Austria, which are subject to European law. STACKIT’s sovereignty certification, the European Sovereign Stack (ES³) Standard, covers nine dimensions according to Snowflake — the eight objectives of the EU Cloud Sovereignty Framework plus an added AI-sovereignty dimension — and classifies cloud services via a four-level maturity model. Snowflake and STACKIT each independently hold BSI C5 attestations, which Snowflake describes as a relevant compliance benchmark for regulated industries in Germany; Snowflake also cites further certifications including ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, TISAX and PCI-DSS. Michael Wieland, Snowflake’s VP for DACH and Eastern Europe, is quoted in the post describing STACKIT as a genuinely European cloud provider with the scale to serve the country’s most critical institutions.
According to Schwarz Digits, further technology partners are to be added to the STACKIT ecosystem in stages. Snowflake notes in its blog post that statements about planned integration steps, product availability and timelines are preliminary and remain subject to partner agreements and regulatory processes. No specific timeline has yet been given for running the Snowflake platform natively on STACKIT.
Partnership with infodas
In addition, infodas, an Airbus subsidiary specializing in cyber and IT security, and Schwarz Digits, the IT and digital division of the Schwarz Group, have entered into a strategic partnership. According to the companies, the goal is to integrate STACKIT’s highly secure cloud technologies with infodas’ cross-domain solutions to enable secure data exchange in the public sector and among operators of critical infrastructure.
According to its own description, infodas is a long-standing partner of the German Armed Forces, the defense industry, and government and security agencies, and is particularly known for its field-proven and certified cross-domain solutions. According to infodas, the company’s SDoT product family is partially certified for the classification levels GEHEIM, EU SECRET, and NATO SECRET and holds Common Criteria as well as other country-specific certifications.
By extending this cross-domain expertise to the STACKIT infrastructure, customers will in the future be able to securely connect networks with different classification levels in compliance with regulations. According to the companies, the partnership addresses a key challenge faced by government agencies and the armed forces: the strict separation of networks has often led to isolated information systems in the past.
The joint solutions are designed to enable a seamless flow of information without violating the strict security requirements for classified networks.
Thorsten Ecke, Managing Director of infodas, is quoted as saying that the partnership with Schwarz Digits is a logical next step; by deploying virtualized solutions, flexible and secure cloud architectures can be implemented across all classification levels. Harald Mannheim, Head of Defense at Schwarz Digits, describes infodas as a technology partner that thoroughly understands the requirements of the security environment; according to him, combining infodas’ domain traversal capabilities with the STACKIT Cloud Continuum creates a new dimension of secure, digitally sovereign networking.
