HP and German Bundesliga club VfB Stuttgart have entered into an innovation and technology partnership. The club will equip its employees with HP hardware and solutions for AI-assisted work, collaboration and IT security.
HP is the new innovation and technology partner of VfB Stuttgart. The computer vendor will equip the German Bundesliga club with laptops, desktops, workstations, monitors and business peripherals. The club will also rely on HP solutions for AI-assisted work, collaboration and IT security going forward. According to the company, the deciding factor for the partnership was the combination of hardware, AI, integrated security and services from a single provider.
The agreement places VfB Stuttgart among a growing number of football clubs that, alongside conventional sponsorship deals, are entering technology partnerships covering internal administration. While IT equipment long played a secondary role at sports clubs, digital workplaces, data security and AI tools are increasingly moving into focus as clubs professionalize their business operations alongside their sporting activities.
VfB Stuttgart says it aims to further digitalize its internal workflows and provide employees with modern, secure and flexible workplaces. The new IT equipment is intended to support hybrid work models while protecting data.
According to HP, the AI-capable devices are designed to automate routine tasks, ease collaboration and increase productivity without sensitive data leaving the corporate environment. The solutions are meant to simplify workflows and free up capacity for more strategic tasks, which the company says should benefit both the efficiency of internal processes and employee satisfaction.
Another element of the partnership is integrated security functionality intended to protect devices, identities and data from the outset. HP states this is meant to strengthen the club’s digital resilience without requiring trade-offs in IT security or data protection.
Beyond hardware, HP is also providing VfB with analytics capabilities and services. According to the company, these are meant to help assess the performance of devices and digital processes and identify IT issues early, before they affect ongoing operations. Much as data analysis has long been standard practice in elite sport, data-driven decisions are also gaining importance in club administration.
The partnership links two organizations with long histories in the German state of Baden-Württemberg: VfB Stuttgart was founded in Stuttgart in 1893 and has been closely tied to the region ever since. HP, in turn, has operated its German headquarters in nearby Böblingen since 1959. Both parties cite this regional connection as a factor in the collaboration.

Neither side disclosed further details such as the contract’s duration or financial terms. How the partnership plays out in practice is likely to become clearer over the course of the season.
