The third edition of gamescom latam highlights the increasing global relevance of Latin America’s gaming ecosystem, combining business development, community engagement, and cultural exchange.

The 2026 edition of gamescom latam concluded in São Paulo with record-breaking results, reinforcing its position as a central hub for the gaming industry in Latin America. Held between April 29 and May 3 at Distrito Anhembi, the event attracted more than 154,000 visitors, marking a 17.5% increase compared to the previous year.

The scale of the event reflects both regional growth and international interest. More than 400 games were showcased, including over 60 new releases, while 175 exhibitors from 23 countries participated. In total, over 700 studios and 1,100 companies were present, highlighting the expanding network of developers, publishers, and service providers active in the region.

A key aspect of the event was its business environment. Across three days, more than 13,000 meetings were held between industry stakeholders, representing a 46% increase year-over-year. These interactions are expected to generate approximately 180 million US dollars in new business, underlining Brazil’s role as a strategic gateway to the global games market.

Industry representatives emphasized the importance of Brazil’s distributed development landscape, with more than 1,000 studios operating nationwide. The event functions not only as a marketplace but also as a platform for connecting local production with international investment and distribution channels.

On the consumer side, gamescom latam combined large-scale entertainment with early access to upcoming titles. Major publishers and studios presented playable versions of new games, while interactive activations aimed to strengthen engagement between audiences and brands. The presence of both global companies and regional developers contributed to a diverse portfolio of experiences.

The event also featured a comprehensive content program, with more than 300 hours of panels, workshops, and competitions. Over 500 speakers participated, including international guests and industry professionals. The program addressed current trends, technological developments, and market opportunities, reflecting the evolving structure of the global games sector.

Independent development remained a central focus through the BIG Festival, which received submissions from 75 countries. The diversity of finalists demonstrated a wide range of creative approaches, from narrative-driven projects to experimental gameplay formats. The festival continues to serve as a platform for visibility and international recognition.

Overall, gamescom latam 2026 illustrates the consolidation of Latin America as an active and interconnected region within the global games industry, combining economic impact with cultural production and audience participation.
