Extreme Networks has made Extreme Agent ONE Coworker generally available. The AI agent analyzes network data and historical developments, provides context-based recommendations and is designed to support IT teams with troubleshooting and network operations.
Extreme Networks has announced the general availability of Extreme Agent ONE Coworker. The agent-based artificial intelligence (AI) service is aimed at organizations using Extreme Platform ONE. Customers of the platform can access Agent ONE Coworker worldwide as part of their subscription.
The focus is on how network problems can be identified and addressed more efficiently. According to the vendor, network teams can spend hours or even days collecting information from different sources and determining the causes of disruptions. At the same time, finding and retaining qualified specialists remains a challenge.
Extreme is therefore pursuing an approach intended to go beyond anomaly detection. A central role is played by the “Nudge” function. It combines real-time information from the network environment with historical developments and agent-based reasoning. Based on this information, the system is designed to identify relevant deviations and provide recommendations directly within the operational workflow.
This approach differs from conventional predictive analytics, which primarily points to unusual conditions. Agent ONE Coworker is instead designed to provide information about a potential problem in context. IT teams therefore need to spend less time manually collecting data before starting the actual analysis. Extreme states that problems can consequently be resolved up to 15 times faster. This figure comes from the vendor and the announcement does not provide further details on the methodology or measurement period.
Another component is the linking of different data points within Extreme Platform ONE. Agent ONE Coworker maps relationships between users, devices, applications, services and network conditions. The resulting answers are intended to reflect the specific environment of an organization.
For greater transparency, Extreme says the system also explains how its recommendations are derived. This is intended to allow network teams to review the results while retaining human control over decisions. Extreme explicitly states that the technology is not intended to replace existing expertise but to make it more broadly available across an organization.
Agent ONE Coworker also includes several other AI-based functions. “Talk to RRM” continuously analyzes radio-frequency behavior and is designed to provide guidance for wireless performance optimization. “Canvas” can create dynamic dashboards and reports tailored to different audiences.
The “Talk to Knowledge” and “Talk to Data” functions use Extreme’s Knowledge Graph. They are designed to answer questions about network data and technical relationships and integrate troubleshooting recommendations into operational workflows. According to Extreme, this can reduce the time required to onboard new team members by up to 50 percent. The announcement does not provide details on the measurement method or comparison period behind this figure.
“Talk to Support” uses current network context to recommend potential solutions. If additional assistance is required, the function can, according to Extreme, automatically escalate an issue to the company’s Global Technical Access Center (GTAC).
Vandalia Health is cited as one of the users of the technology. Principal Network Engineer Cord C. Scott describes the system from an IT team’s perspective. Network data could be converted into context-based insights, allowing executives to receive higher-level information while technical teams could continue to conduct more detailed analysis and optimize network performance.
The announcement also addresses the broader development of AI in enterprise networking. Shamus McGillicuddy, VP of Research at Enterprise Management Associates (EMA), identifies the ability to understand an individual customer environment and explain conclusions as a key element of the next stage of AI development in networking.
With general availability, Agent ONE Coworker becomes part of Extreme’s platform rather than remaining an announced technology. According to Extreme, the service is now available worldwide to all Extreme Platform ONE customers. A live demonstration has been announced for September 23, 2026.

My experience with this AI agent showed it struggles when dealing with legacy hardware. It requires manual input for certain complex configurations.
