Market research firm Gartner has released its evaluation of Software Asset Management (SAM) tools. The “Voice of the Customer” report aggregates user evaluations and places providers into a four-quadrant framework based on “User Interest and Adoption” and “Overall Experience”. USU was positioned in the “Aspiring” quadrant.
The report’s findings are based on 21 verified customer reviews collected as of April 2026. Released on June 30, 2026, the report offers IT decision-makers an empirical overview grounded in real-world user experiences. Alongside the overall score of 4.4 out of 5, the 89 percent recommendation rate represents a key metric of the report.
User feedback reflects operational experiences with the software. A customer from the financial services sector cited responsive support and noted that while establishing a foundational software catalog and product recognition process may require initial effort, it ensures reliable data collection. Optional add-ons were also identified as valuable for tailored enterprise needs.
Johannes Biesing, Vice President Product Management at USU, noted that the recommendation rate increased by three percentage points compared to the previous year. According to the company, these insights will inform ongoing development of its software asset management solutions.
Software Asset Management remains a foundational requirement for organizations managing hybrid IT environments, encompassing on-premises data centers, cloud infrastructure, and hardware assets.
