As part of its expanded Oracle PartnerNetwork, Oracle has introduced “Oracle Startup Growth Engine.” The offering targets fast-growing, investor-backed technology companies and, according to Oracle, combines cloud credits, technical support and access to Oracle Marketplace.

Oracle has introduced Oracle Startup Growth Engine. The offering is part of the expanded Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) and is aimed at fast-growing technology companies that are funded by investors. According to the company, those that meet the requirements can develop their solutions, scale them for broader use and market them through Oracle’s global partner network. The focus is on next-generation applications, including artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, built on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

What participating companies can receive

According to Oracle, qualifying companies can receive a free one-year OPN membership, credits for cloud services, go-to-market support and hands-on technical guidance. At certain OPN levels, they may also get the opportunity to connect with Oracle customers. The company lists four components: first, OCI credits or financial support for technical and business assessments, for example to develop, train and scale AI applications or to systematically evaluate requirements for high-performance infrastructure. The respective terms and conditions apply. Second, support from Oracle engineers in developing, implementing and improving solutions on OCI. Third, the option to publish solutions on Oracle Marketplace, provided applicable requirements are met. Fourth, participation in Oracle marketing activities.

Marketplace as a sales channel

Through Oracle Marketplace, participating companies can offer their products and services to tens of thousands of Oracle customers worldwide who are looking for cloud technologies and AI solutions, according to Oracle. Customers find offerings from other vendors in one central place and can explore, compare and deploy them. Participants are also expected to be able to connect their specialized solutions with Oracle’s industry solutions and business applications to address customers’ industry-specific requirements.

Growth hurdles

According to Oracle, the program is meant to reduce typical growth hurdles: cost, technical complexity and difficult access to customers. Cormac Watters, Executive Vice President and General Manager for EMEA at Oracle, said: “Fast-growing technology companies need more than good ideas. They need the right infrastructure, expertise and market access so that innovation turns into commercial success.” Combining these capabilities, he said, helps companies develop and scale their solutions, reach new customers and achieve measurable business results.

Oracle says the offering can help companies deploy and scale AI applications faster, reduce infrastructure and migration costs for existing applications, speed up sales cycles with enterprise customers and open new markets using Oracle’s marketing resources. The announcement does not specify eligibility criteria or the size of the cloud credits; these depend on the program’s terms and conditions.

By its own description, the Oracle PartnerNetwork is meant to help Oracle and its partners achieve joint customer success. The expanded program offers several program pathways and foundational benefits in training and enablement, go-to-market collaboration, technical accelerators and success support.

How Oracle defines eligibility and the scope of benefits in detail is likely to matter to startups as well as to partners in the Oracle ecosystem. Further information on the partner program is available at oracle.com/partner.
