ESET and NovaStor have introduced a joint offer for managed service providers (MSPs) and system integrators with healthcare clients. It combines ESET PROTECT with the NovaStor DataCenter Evolve backup software. According to the companies, the introductory terms run through the end of 2027, and webinars are planned for October.

Security and Backup as a Joint Offer

Medical practices and medical care centers (MVZ) face growing requirements for IT security, data protection, and resilience. Cyberattacks such as ransomware or phishing can disrupt practice operations immediately. Prevention alone is not enough in such cases: it is also essential to detect threats early and to be able to restore compromised data and systems.

This is where ESET and NovaStor come in. The joint MSP Special Offer for medical practices combines ESET PROTECT Complete or ESET PROTECT Elite, optionally including the MDR service, with NovaStor DataCenter Evolve, the backup and restore software from the Hamburg-based vendor. MSPs and system integrators are meant to be able to offer security and backup as coordinated managed services.

The Technical Components

According to the vendor, ESET PROTECT covers endpoints, file and mail servers, and cloud applications. Its scope includes vulnerability and patch management, cloud sandboxing, and a function for restoring encrypted files after possible ransomware attacks. Extended detection and response (XDR) and an MDR service with expert support are available as options.

According to the company, NovaStor DataCenter Evolve backs up servers, databases, Microsoft 365, and virtual environments. NovaStor lists disk, tape, and cloud, among others, as storage targets. The software offers multi-tenant management and is intended to enable fast recovery. NovaStor DataCenter is available as an on-premises and as a SaaS solution; development and support take place entirely in Hamburg, the company says.

“Security and backup belong together when it comes to keeping companies able to act in an emergency,” says Stefan Utzinger, managing director of NovaStor GmbH. In medical practices in particular, outages could immediately affect day-to-day operations.

Terms for MSPs

Beyond the technical interplay, the announcement puts the commercial benefit for IT service providers at the center: they can expand existing customer relationships and market security and backup as a recurring service. To mark the start of the cooperation, both companies offer special MSP terms. On the NovaStor side, the promotion includes an MSP starter package with 25 backup units for 169 euros per month, a 10 percent discount on additional backup units, and free certification as a NovaStor MSP Solution Partner. These terms apply until December 31, 2027. This gives MSPs a concrete entry point for offering cybersecurity, backup, and recovery as part of their own service portfolio. The announcement does not provide details on ESET’s terms.

Webinar and Trade Show Presence

The two companies will show how MSPs can use the offer with practice clients in a webinar titled “Managed Security for Medical Practices: How MSPs Create Recurring Revenue with Security & Backup.” It takes place on October 6 and October 21, 2026. Topics include the current threat landscape for medical practices and MVZ, the interplay of endpoint security, MDR, and backup, and requirements under GDPR and NIS2. A worked example is meant to show how existing customer relationships can be developed into a scalable managed service offering.

Both vendors will also be present at it-sa 2026, held October 27–29 in Nuremberg: ESET in Hall 9 at Booth 434, NovaStor in Hall 7 at Booth 140.
