Infinigate Group has appointed James Baker as Regional Vice President for Cloud & Marketplace. In the newly created role, he will develop the distributor’s cloud and marketplace business across regions and support IT channel partners in leveraging growing market demand.
The Infinigate Group, a value-added distributor specializing in cybersecurity, cloud, and network infrastructure, has appointed James Baker to a new leadership position. Baker takes responsibility for expanding the company’s cloud and marketplace portfolio.
As Regional Vice President Cloud & Marketplace, Baker will drive the offering across multiple geographies. This includes further developing the service portfolio and supporting IT channel partners in creating new revenue streams in the cloud segment. The cloud division is gaining strategic importance for Infinigate. Baker is expected to collaborate closely with vendors to scale and integrate service offerings in response to demand for cybersecurity consulting and flexible cloud solutions.
Baker brings more than 26 years of channel experience in the technology and SaaS sector. He has held leadership roles in sales, vendor alliances, marketing, and general management at resellers, distributors, and manufacturers. Most recently, he served as Managing Director of Cloud Operations at Giacom.
“I am very pleased to take on this role and to advance the expansion of Cloud & Marketplace at Infinigate in close collaboration with our key manufacturers and channel partners,” Baker is quoted as saying. He sees significant potential to help resellers, system integrators, VARs, MSPs, and ISVs build sustainable cloud businesses.
Marco van Kalleveen, CEO of Infinigate Group, stated: “Cloud & Marketplace is an important growth area for Infinigate and offers opportunities for our partners. James has the leadership qualities, channel expertise, and entrepreneurial vision to further develop this business segment.”
The appointment comes at a time when cloud solutions and marketplace models are gaining traction in the IT channel. Distributors like Infinigate position themselves as platforms connecting vendors and partners while supporting service integration. Baker’s experience is intended to strengthen this interface and provide practical support to the channel.
His move from Giacom to Infinigate highlights his focus on cloud operations and strategic development in the distribution environment. With his industry knowledge, he is expected to optimize internal processes and intensify collaboration with partners to address changing market requirements, including the scaling of cloud services, integration of cybersecurity elements, and creation of flexible procurement models.
In practice, this is likely to involve work on expanding partner programs, developing training offerings, and optimizing marketplace platforms. Such measures aim to make it easier for channel companies to incorporate cloud offerings profitably and support customers long-term.
The Infinigate Group operates as a trusted advisor and technology platform in Europe. By strengthening its cloud capabilities, the company is responding to ongoing digitalization and the rising need for hybrid IT solutions among mid-sized and larger enterprises. Baker’s role is defined across regions, enabling a coordinated strategy across countries
