The leading IT security trade fair, it-sa, is expanding its European focus. With the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO), it has gained a key player
in the European cybersecurity ecosystem as a strategic partner.
The Nuremberg IT security trade fair it-sa has gained the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO) as a new partner. ECSO assumes the role of “European Sovereignty Partner” and adds a strong European dimension to the existing network of the event.
The it-sa has long been supported by national institutions including the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), Bitkom e. V., and the German IT Security Association (TeleTrusT). The addition of ECSO now gives the trade fair an explicitly pan-European dimension.
ECSO is the central public-private organization for cybersecurity at the European level. It connects stakeholders from industry, research, politics, and public institutions across EU and EFTA countries. Its tasks include mobilizing investments, supporting startups and scale-ups, the Women4Cyber initiative, and the development of European quality labels.
“This partnership creates more space for high-level strategic debates and promotes Europe’s cybersecurity sovereignty,” said Dr. Joanna Świątkowska, Secretary General of ECSO. The cooperation aims to improve networking between industry, investors, and policymakers.
The partnership will be visible at the trade fair through an ECSO Village serving as a meeting point for stakeholders from politics, business, and research. ECSO will also activate international delegations and contribute to the further development of the it-sa Congress.
Thimo Holst, Exhibition Director of it-sa, sees the partnership as an opportunity to better address the growing demand for digital sovereignty and to increase the event’s appeal for European exhibitors and visitors.
With this step, it-sa positions itself as a platform that combines national strengths with a European perspective.
