Munich-based IT security provider indevis merges with Data-Sec to form Argos Security GmbH — positioning itself with more than 100 experts, a 24/7 SOC, and a mythological name as a leading MSSP in the DACH region.
A New Name for Combined Strength
The DACH cybersecurity market is welcoming a new heavyweight: indevis GmbH is now operating under the name Argos Security GmbH. The rebrand is the visible outcome of the merger between indevis and Data-Sec, which has been systematically driven forward since investor Sophora Unternehmerkapital joined in June 2025. With more than 100 cybersecurity professionals, a German 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC), and a fully integrated portfolio, the company positions itself as one of the most capable Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) in the region.
Mythological Symbolism Meets Modern Threat Landscape
The brand name Argos Security is no coincidence. It references Argos Panoptes — the hundred-eyed guardian of Greek mythology whom no enemy could escape. The symbolism is deliberate: in an era when cyberattacks unfold in parallel, are highly automated, and often arrive without clear warning signals, the new brand name is meant to embody vigilance, comprehensive oversight, and decisive action.
„The cybersecurity market today demands a combination of technical depth, fast response capability, and a clearly structured approach. Attacks run in parallel, are automated, and often come without obvious indicators.”
— Frank Pütz, CEO Argos Security
From Two Companies to One Integrated Provider
Since the merger, indevis and Data-Sec have progressively integrated their teams, processes, and technologies. The result: an expanded service portfolio that brings Managed Detection & Response (MDR), Incident Response, forensic analysis, security strategy consulting, and comprehensive IT security and network solutions under one roof. Argos Security targets organizations ranging from upper mid-market to enterprise, as well as public sector clients.
The company is ISO/IEC 27001 certified and operates offices in Munich and Freiburg. CEO Frank Pütz emphasizes that the new entity is far more than a name change: for him, Argos Security represents the next logical step toward a shared, future-proof identity that combines financial stability with up-to-date security expertise.
Modular Service Model for Scalable Resilience
A key differentiator is the company’s three-tier service model. Through the stages Essential, Guarded, and Resilient, customers can precisely select the security level that matches their risk profile and organizational size. This modular approach is designed to help organizations advance security not only technically but also organizationally — across the five phases of Prepare, Protect, Detect, Respond, and Evolve.
„Our modular approach helps clearly define priorities and build measures in a structured way — creating a transparent, scalable, and reliably sustainable offering for every customer.”
— Jan Seitz, CFO Argos Security
Phased Rebranding
While indevis has already fully transitioned to Argos Security, the rebranding of Data-Sec will take place gradually over the coming months. For existing customers of both companies, the quality of services remains unchanged — the transition is designed for continuity. Further information is available at www.argos.security.
