Reuters: IRGC claims responsibility for attacks on Oracle and AWS cloud-computing infrastructure in Dubai and Bahrain.

According to the news agency Reuters Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed a series of coordinated strikes on Thursday targeting Western cloud-computing infrastructure, US military assets, and border facilities across the Middle East — a sharp escalation that drew denials from Dubai, alarm from Bahrain, and urgent diplomatic activity at the United Nations.

Oracle Data Center in Dubai Reportedly Targeted

Iranian state media reported Thursday that the IRGC had struck an Oracle data center in Dubai, citing the attack as part of retaliatory operations against Western interests in the region. Dubai’s media office issued a prompt denial, rejecting the claim without elaborating on the operational status of the facility.

The conflicting accounts could not be independently verified. Oracle has not issued a public statement on the matter.

Amazon Cloud Facility in Bahrain Hit; Fire Confirmed

The IRGC also claimed responsibility for a strike on an Amazon cloud-computing center in Bahrain on Thursday, describing the attack as retaliation for earlier operations against Iran. Iran’s state-run Iranian Students’ News Agency (ISNA) reported the claim.

Bahrain’s Interior Ministry confirmed on Wednesday — the day before — that civil defense teams were extinguishing a fire at a company facility following what authorities described as an Iranian attack. The Financial Times, citing a person familiar with the matter, reported the site had sustained damage from a strike on Wednesday.

Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani addressed the UN Security Council on Thursday, saying he hoped the council would vote on Friday on a Bahrain-drafted resolution aimed at protecting commercial shipping in and around the Strait of Hormuz.
