ECM provider Hyland has updated its Content Innovation Cloud, adding new features for automated content processing, cross-system data access, and regulatory-compliant document management.

Hyland is expanding its AI platform Content Innovation Cloud with features designed to help companies automate document processes. With these updates, Hyland is targeting organizations that want to unlock unstructured data and integrate it into automated processes.

At the core of these updates is Hyland Automate, which will enable users to create AI agents through natural language inputs. This will enable users without programming knowledge to configure automation scenarios. These features are complemented by automated redaction of confidential information in documents and dynamic form elements intended to improve user guidance.

The Hyland Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) module is receiving an AI-supported classification function, as well as extended support for various file and text formats, to enable faster classification and real-time reporting in document processing. According to the manufacturer, these improvements should significantly reduce the time between designing an automation solution and deploying it. A new reporting module provides real-time metrics on processing accuracy, system performance, and compliance requirements.

Content Federation: Access distributed content without migrating data

The Content Federation Service, a central element of the Content Innovation Cloud, makes content from various repositories, such as OnBase, Alfresco, Nuxeo, and SharePoint 365, accessible via a unified interface. Data does not need to be migrated or consolidated. This feature is useful for companies with complex, historical IT landscapes who need centralized AI evaluation.

Updates for Alfresco and Nuxeo: Security, Accessibility, and Governance

The ECM platforms, Alfresco and Nuxeo, are receiving updates as well. At Alfresco, the focus is on improved security mechanisms, modernized authorization processes, and expanded accessibility features. Nuxeo’s updates address simplified administration, expanded compliance tools, and improved scalability.

Michael Campbell, Hyland’s Chief Product Officer, positions these innovations within a long-term product strategy. The company is pursuing a transition from traditional document storage to modern, AI-integrated content management. The goal is to enable companies to automate essential processes, work independently of location, and securely meet regulatory requirements.

These features are part of the ongoing development of the Content Innovation Cloud and are intended for medium and large companies with complex document management, compliance, and digital process automation requirements.
