Marco Canepa Takes Over as Country Manager Alpine at Extreme Networks.

Extreme Networks has appointed Marco Canepa as Country Manager Alpine. Since January 2026, he has been responsible for the operational and strategic business of the networking provider in Switzerland and Austria. Canepa brings more than two decades of experience in the telecommunications and ICT sector and will focus on driving enterprise growth while expanding the regional partner network.

Career in Swiss Telecommunications

Most recently, Canepa served as Senior Director B2B Products & Alliances at Sunrise, Switzerland’s largest private telecommunications and ICT provider. Following the merger of Sunrise and UPC Switzerland, he headed the newly formed B2B Product & Alliance Management organization and was a member of the Senior Leadership Team. In this role, he oversaw the consolidation of the product portfolio, the development of strategic partnerships, and the market launch of a new ICT offering.

Prior to Sunrise, Canepa held several leadership positions at Swisscom, most recently as Senior Vice President & Field CTO IoT. He carried full strategic and operational responsibility for the IoT segment, including complete P&L accountability. During his tenure, the segment grew substantially and strategic partner ecosystems were established.

Focus of the New Role

At Extreme Networks, Canepa will focus on expanding the enterprise business and strengthening the partner network across the Alpine region. On his appointment he said: “The Alpine region requires high-performance, secure, and scalable network solutions that keep pace with the changing requirements of enterprises.
