Global technology distributor Arrow Electronics is reshaping its DACH organization. By appointing Mathias von Bescherer as Regional Director for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, and Michael Weinzierl as the new Managing Director in Austria, the company is responding to the growing interdependence of the three markets and strengthening coordination with manufacturers and channel partners.
US-based technology group Arrow Electronics is overhauling its leadership structure across the DACH region. Mathias von Bescherer, previously Managing Director of Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions Germany, will assume the additional role of Regional Director for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland effective April 1, 2026, the company announced.
Through this move, Arrow says it is building a stronger, integrated organization that reflects the increasing interconnection of the three markets and will improve coordination with manufacturers and channel partners.
Unified Leadership Replaces Divided Structure
Until now, the three DACH countries operated under separate management. Under the new structure, both Thomas Benz — Managing Director Switzerland since October 2025 — and newly appointed Austrian head Michael Weinzierl report directly to von Bescherer. Weinzierl takes office on April 1, 2026.
Weinzierl is a company veteran with over two decades at Arrow, having held leadership roles across product management, sales, and business development. Most recently he served as Head of Inside Sales.
Long-Serving Executive Departs
The restructuring also marks the departure of Heribert Karrer, who served as Regional Director for Austria and Switzerland. Karrer worked alongside Weinzierl and von Bescherer over several weeks to ensure a seamless handover.
Henrik Resting-Jeppesen, Vice President Sales EMEA at Arrow Enterprise Computing Solutions, paid tribute to Karrer’s decades-long contribution to Arrow’s success in Austria, Switzerland, and Eastern Europe.
von Bescherer Brings Global Track Record
Von Bescherer has led Arrow’s German unit since November 2022. Before that, he held senior roles at distributor Tech Data from 2015 to 2022, including Vice President Global IT Services, Vice President Operations (Consumer Solutions), and Vice President Asia-Pacific Operations. From 2008 to 2015, he held multiple leadership positions at Microsoft Asia-Pacific.
