Zudem kommen ab März 2023 eine neue Reihe von All-Flash Storage-Lösungen auf den Markt: Die NetApp AFF C-Serie, eine neue Produktreihe kapazitätsstarker Flash Storage-Optionen, die kostengünstige All-Flash Storage bieten und NetApp AFF A150, das neue Einstiegsprodukt  in der AFF A-Serie der All-Flash-Systeme.

Neue Storage-Systeme der A- und C-Serie

NetApp präsentiert die NetApp AFF C-Serie und eine Ergänzung der NetApp AFF A-Serie um AFF A150. Die NetApp AFF C-Serie bietet Flash-Performance und bleibt dabei kostengünstig und effizient. Diese Serie wird mit der All-in-One-Lizenz ONTAP One angeboten, die das gesamte verfügbare Software-Angebot von NetApp enthält. Kunden können flexibel den für ihre
VMware-, Datenbank- und File-Workload-Anforderungen richtigen Storage (Performance-Flash, Kapazitäts-Flash oder Hybrid) auswählen. Sie alle laufen auf NetApp ONTAP und werden zentral von NetApp BlueXP verwaltet, um eine nahtlose Hybrid-Cloud-Erfahrung zu ermöglichen.

Die NetApp AFF C-Serie umfasst AFF C250, AFF C400 sowie AFF C800 und umfasst folgende Leistungen:

• Eine garantierte Storage-Effizienz, um den Storage-Fußabdruck und die Energiekosten des Unternehmens zu verbessern. So werden die Gesamtbetriebskosten gesenkt und der Betriebsablauf vereinfacht.
• Eine nahtlose Skalierbarkeit On-Premises, damit Unternehmen die benötigte Kapazität und Leistung mit dem Wachstum ihrer Daten skalieren können.
• Eine erstklassige Datensicherheit mit Ransomware-Schutz, damit wichtige Daten gesichert, verfügbar und geschützt sind.

NetApp AFF A150 erfüllt die Anforderungen mittelständischer Unternehmen sowie Niederlassungen und verzweigter Außenstellen, die ein Storage-Einstiegsprodukt mit hoher Leistungsfähigkeit benötigen. Sie skaliert fließend, bietet vielfältige Erweiterungsmöglichkeiten und unterstützt MetroCluster IP für Hochverfügbarkeit.

Alle neuen Systeme sind für Einstiegs- bis High-End-Workloads geeignet, darunter virtuelle Maschinen, Datenbanken und Backup-Konsolidierungen. Sie bieten leistungsfähiges Datenmanagement mit NetApp ONTAP zum attraktiven Preis. So schaffen sie auch attraktive Wachstumsmöglichkeiten für Channel-Partner, um neue Märkte zu erschließen und sich gleichzeitig für NetApp Partner Sphere Incentives zu qualifizieren.

NetApp Advance: kosteneffizient und nachhaltig

Mit NetApp Advance entwickelt sich der Storage-Lebenszyklus weiter. Das Programm hilft Unternehmen dabei, komplexe, kostspielige und zeitaufwendige Aktualisierungszyklen zu vermeiden. So wird bei Bedarf fortlaufend und unterbrechungsfrei Hardware erneuert, was einen effizienten, sicheren und nachhaltigen Storage gewährleistet. Unternehmen können dabei zwischen On-Premises- und Cloud-Storage-Optionen wählen, um ihre Umgebungen zukunftssicher zu machen. NetApp Advance kommt außerdem mit bewährten Verfahren und Funktionen für eine erhöhte Nachhaltigkeit und Wirtschaftlichkeit einher, die die Energieeffizienz und den Betrieb kontinuierlich verbessern und so die CO2-Bilanz verringern.

Als Teil von NetApp Advance bietet das neue NetApp Storage Lifecycle Program Folgendes:

• Die kostenfreie Aufrüstung der Storage-Controller-Technologie alle drei, vier oder fünf Jahre.
• Die Option, Storage Controller bereits vor Ablauf der ersten drei Jahre durch geringe Aufzahlung auszutauschen.
• Eine optionale Anpassung der Storage-Kapazität beim Refresh, sodass Unternehmen dieselbe Kapazität nie zwei Mal kaufen müssen. Dadurch erzielen Unternehmen einen effizienteren sowie nachhaltigeren RZ-Fußabdruck.
• Remote-gemanagte Software-Updates für ONTAP, die neue Funktionen und Erweiterungen einschließen.
• Premium-Support mit Active IQ und Cloud Insights, die eine umfassende Transparenz und AIOps ermöglichen. Die Beobachtung der gesamten Infrastruktur über den Storage hinaus in einem einzigen Dashboard, um Probleme schnell erkennen zu können und die Fehlerbehebung zu vereinfachen. ONTAP Essentials bietet detaillierte Übersichten über ONTAP-Bestände, Workloads und die Datensicherheit.

Cloud-Skalierung und Effizienzgarantie 

Einen weiteren Teil des NetApp Storage Lifecycle Program bildet das NetApp Cloud Advantage Program. Dieses erlaubt Unternehmen, Controller gegen eine volle Gutschrift für NetApp Cloud-Lösungen ihrer Wahl einzutauschen. Dadurch können Kunden einfacher in die Cloud skalieren und so auf neue Geschäftsanforderungen reagieren. Zudem greift für alle AFF All-Flash-Systeme die 4:1 SAN Storage Efficiency Guarantee von NetApp: Sollten die Workload-Effizienzziele nicht erreicht werden, nimmt NetApp kostenfreie Nachbesserungen vor.

Nachhaltigkeit als SLA

NetApp führt zudem im ersten Quartal 2023 ein Service-Level-Agreement (SLA) für Nachhaltigkeit für Kunden von NetApp Keystone ein. Keystone bietet dann eine Standard-Watt/TB für jede SLA-basierte Leistungsstufe, gemäß der Geschäftsbedingungen. Darüber hinaus erhalten Kunden im ersten Quartal des Fiskaljahres 2024 von NetApp (Mai – Juli 2023) Vorschau auf eine Branchenneuheit: das NetApp BlueXP Sustainability Dashboard. Es erzeugt anhand reeller Daten zum Strom-, Energie- und Wärmeverbrauch eine Nachhaltigkeits-Scorecard und bietet damit einen ganzheitlichen Überblick über die IT-Umgebung eines Unternehmens. So können Unternehmen ihre IT-Nachhaltigkeitsziele einfacher überwachen und leichter erreichen.

In addition, a new line of all-flash storage solutions will launch in March 2023: the NetApp AFF C-Series, a new line of high-capacity flash storage options that offer cost-effective all-flash storage, and NetApp AFF A150, the new entry-level product in the AFF A-Series of all-flash systems.

New A- and C-Series Storage Systems

NetApp will unveil the NetApp AFF C-Series and an addition of AFF A150 to the NetApp AFF A-Series. The NetApp AFF C-Series delivers flash performance while remaining cost-effective and efficient. This series is offered with the ONTAP One all-in-one license, which includes NetApp’s entire available software offering. Customers have the flexibility to choose the software best suited for their

VMware, database, and file workload requirements (performance flash, capacity flash, or hybrid). They all run on NetApp ONTAP and are centrally managed by NetApp BlueXP to provide a seamless hybrid cloud experience.

The NetApp AFF C-Series includes AFF C250, AFF C400, and AFF C800 and includes the following:

– Guaranteed storage efficiency to improve the enterprise storage footprint and energy costs. This lowers total cost of ownership and simplifies operations.

– Seamless on-premises scalability to enable organizations to scale the capacity and performance they need as their data grows.

– World-class data security with ransomware protection to keep critical data secured, available, and protected.

NetApp AFF A150 meets the needs of midsize companies, as well as branch offices and branched remote offices that require an entry-level storage product with high performance. It scales fluidly, offers multiple expansion options, and supports MetroCluster IP for high availability.

All new systems are suitable for entry-level to high-end workloads, including virtual machines, databases and backup consolidations. They offer high-performance data management with NetApp ONTAP at an attractive price. As such, they also create attractive growth opportunities for channel partners to enter new markets while qualifying for NetApp Partner Sphere incentives.

NetApp Advance: Cost-Effective and Sustainable

With NetApp Advance, the storage lifecycle continues to evolve. The program helps organizations avoid complex, costly, and time-consuming upgrade cycles. It continuously refreshes hardware on demand without disruption, ensuring efficient, secure, and sustainable storage. Enterprises can choose between on-premises and cloud storage options to future-proof their environments. NetApp Advance also comes with best practices and features for increased sustainability and cost-effectiveness, continuously improving energy efficiency and operations to reduce carbon footprint.

As part of NetApp Advance, the new NetApp Storage Lifecycle Program offers the following:

– The no-cost upgrade of storage controller technology every three, four, or five years.

– The option to replace storage controllers before the first three years are up by paying a small upcharge.

– An optional storage capacity match at refresh, so companies never have to buy the same capacity twice. This gives enterprises a more efficient and sustainable data center footprint.

– Remotely managed software updates for ONTAP that include new features and enhancements.

– Premium support with Active IQ and Cloud Insights that provide comprehensive visibility and AIOps. Observation of the entire infrastructure beyond storage in a single dashboard to quickly identify issues and simplify troubleshooting. ONTAP Essentials provides detailed overviews of ONTAP assets, workloads, and data protection.

Cloud Scaling and Efficiency Guarantee

Another part of the NetApp Storage Lifecycle Program is the NetApp Cloud Advantage Program. This allows companies to trade controllers for full credit toward NetApp cloud solutions of their choice. This makes it easier for customers to scale to the cloud in response to new business needs. In addition, all AFF all-flash systems are covered by NetApp’s 4:1 SAN Storage Efficiency Guarantee: if workload efficiency targets are not met, NetApp will perform remediation at no charge.

Sustainability as SLA

NetApp will also introduce a sustainability service-level agreement (SLA) for NetApp Keystone customers in the first quarter of 2023. Keystone will then provide a standard watt/TB for each SLA-based performance level, according to its terms and conditions. In addition, in the first quarter of NetApp’s fiscal year 2024 (May – July 2023), customers will preview an industry first: the NetApp BlueXP Sustainability Dashboard. It uses real-world data on power, energy, and heat consumption to generate a sustainability scorecard, providing a holistic view of an organization’s IT environment. This makes it easier for organizations to monitor and achieve their IT sustainability goals.
