Auch im Bereich Tablets behauptete das Apple iPad Wi-Fi, 10.2 seinen Spitzenplatz – und das in einem Jahr ohne iPad-Vorstellungen. Bei den Notebooks stach das Apple MacBook Air, 13.3″ von 2020 als unerwarteter Leader hervor. Eine Kursänderung im vorwiegend von Windows-Produkten dominierten B2B-Umfeld? „Das MacBook Air von 2020 ist ein gutes, solides Notebook und Dank M1 Chip für viele Zwecke sowohl privat als auch beruflich geeignet“, kommentiert ITscope-CEO Benjamin Mund. „Die meisten Büros setzen trotzdem weiterhin auf eine Windows-Umgebung, mit der sie flexibler sind.“

Stürmische See für die Druckerbranche

Die Druckerbranche durchlebte ein herausforderndes Jahr 2023. Trotz der Dominanz altbekannter Modelle zeigt sich ein rückläufiger Trend. Oliver Gorges kommentiert: „Die Druckerbranche steht vor großen Herausforderungen. Die fortschreitende Digitalisierung und der Wandel hin zu papierlosen Arbeitsumgebungen zwingen Hersteller, ihre Strategien zu überdenken und sich auf innovative Lösungen zu konzentrieren.“

Samsungs SSDs legen den Kurs fest

SSDs (Solid State Drives) sind auf ITscope inzwischen populärer als klassische Festplatten (HDDs). Samsung behauptete in diesem Bereich seine Führungsposition mit einer Reihe von hochleistungsfähigen Modellen, die teilweise sogar im Händlereinkaufspreis (HEK) gestiegen sind. Bemerkenswert ist außerdem die zunehmende Verbreitung des PCIe4.0-Standards. HDDs haben trotzdem noch ihre Daseinsberechtigung, zum Beispiel für die Speicherung großer Datenmengen und Backups.

Highflyer: Auf Entdeckungsfahrt mit den Top-Neuheiten

Die ITscope-Highflyer stellen die aufregenden Neuerscheinungen in der ITK-Branche dar, die auf ITscope für besonderes Aufsehen sorgen. Pro Produktkategorie wird der neue Artikel mit den meisten Klicks zum Highflyer gekürt.

Die Nummer 1: Ein Komplettsystem von Lenovo

Im vierten Quartal 2023 fällt vor allem ein Markenname ins Auge: Apple. Die neu vorgestellten Produkte des kalifornischen Herstellers werden rege geklickt und sind auch im B2B-Bereich en vogue. Für die Spitzenposition reichte es indes nicht: Dort steht das Lenovo PC-Komplettsystem ThinkCentre M70q Gen 3 11T3, das bereits in den vorherigen Quartalen als Top-Neueinsteiger glänzte und mit 6.367 Klicks in Führung bleibt.

Neue Apple-Produkte dominieren die Topliste

Unter den neuen Apple-Produkten, die als Top-Produkte einsteigen, sticht das iPhone 15 Pro Max heraus, dass es auf Platz 2 der ITscope-Highflyer schafft. Das Mobiltelefon wird von Computer Bild als „das größte, teuerste und am besten ausgestattete iPhone bisher“ mit einer Note von 1,4 bewertet. Auch die neuen Apple AirPods Pro 2 auf Platz 3 erweisen sich mit 1.589 Klicks als beliebteste neue Kopfhörer. Trotz der Tatsache, dass neue Funktionen, wie zum Beispiel die Mikrofonsteuerung der AirPods, nur mit dem aktuellsten iOS voll nutzbar sind, bleiben sie laut Golem ein Favorit. Weitere Apple-Produkte in den Highflyer-Positionen sind in der Kategorie Notebooks das MacBook Pro, von Golem als „ein fast perfektes Notebook“ bezeichnet, sowie die Apple Watch Ultra 2, die laut Chip.de die Smartwatch-Bestenliste anführt und in ITscope das beliebteste Wearable ist. Der Apple Pencil schafft es mit 461 Klicks als Eingabegerät ebenfalls in die Highflyer. Der Touchpen wird von ComputerBild für seine zahlreichen Funktionen und den geringeren Preis gelobt.

PC-Komponenten für Profis

Im Bereich der Grafikkarten macht MSI mit der GeForce RTX 4070 Ti GAMING X SLIM 12G auf sich aufmerksam, die auf Platz 5 der ITscope-Highflyer landet. Mit ihren kompakten Maßen und einem effizienten Kühlkonzept, wie von PC Games Hardware und HardwareLuxx hervorgehoben, stellt sie eine interessante Option für Nutzer dar, die eine leistungsstarke Grafikkarte suchen.

Die SSD (Solid State Drive) Samsung 990 PRO MZ-V9P4T0BW auf Platz 7 ist besonders geeignet für High-End-Gaming und Grafikbearbeitung. Sie fällt durch ihren steigenden HEK und ihre einseitige Bestückung auf, was laut HardwareLuxx praktische Vorteile im Temperaturmanagement bietet.

Der Intel Corei7-14700K, ein Teil der Refresh-Reihe von Intels Raptor Lake Prozessoren, erreicht 807 Klicks. Trotz gemischter Kritik am gesamten Refresh schneidet der i7 besser ab als seine i5- und i9-Pendants, wie ComputerBase berichtet.

Technologietrends im B2B

Als beliebtester neuer Tablet-PC rangiert das Microsoft Surface Go 4 for Business, ein günstiges Convertible bei einem HEK von 592,95 €. Die hohe Nachfrage nach dem Gerät spiegelt sich in der Tatsache wider, dass es Mitte Dezember nur noch bei wenigen ITscope-Händlern verfügbar war. Das ist auch ein Grund für die außergewöhnlich hohen Klickzahlen auf ITscope – bei geringer Verfügbarkeit nutzen Händler die Plattform häufig zur Recherche alternativer Lieferquellen. Inzwischen hat sich der Lagerbestand des Tablets wieder erholt.

Ebenfalls interessant, auch wenn er es nicht in die Top Ten geschafft hat, ist der neue TFT Dell UltraSharp, der immerhin 189 Klicks verzeichnet. An der Spitze dieser Dynamik stand das Modell Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max, das mit 3.804 Klicks den ersten Platz in der Kategorie eroberte. Das Flaggschiff-Modell ist zu einem Händlereinkaufspreis (HEK) von 1.206,43 € erhältlich und zeichnet sich durch Merkmale wie das Super Retina XDR Display mit 2796 x 1290 Pixel bei 460 ppi, den A16-Prozessor sowie ein hochwertiges Kamera-System aus. Besonders bemerkenswert ist die erstmalige Vergabe einer „sehr guten“ Bewertung durch Stiftung Warentest für ein Smartphone, was die hohe Qualität und Leistung der iPhone 15-Serie, insbesondere des Pro Max-Modells, unterstreicht.

Das Apple iPhone 15 erreichte mit einem HEK von 777,14 € und 2.234 Klicks den fünften Platz. Es übertraf in Kritiken und Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis seinen Vorgänger, das iPhone 14, wie ein Vergleich bei Stern.de zeigt. Das iPhone 15 Pro folgte auf dem sechsten Platz mit 1.862 Klicks.

Tablets: Ein Jahr ohne neue iPads – ruhige See oder Sturm?

Auch im vierten Quartal 2023 behauptete sich das Apple iPad Wi-Fi, 10.2″ als das insgesamt beliebteste Produkt auf der ITscope-Plattform, eine bemerkenswerte Leistung in einem Jahr ohne neue iPad-Vorstellungen. Ein neuer Highflyer auf Platz 9 ist das Microsoft Surface Go 4 for Business, XHU-00004. Dr. Windows verpasst dem Tablet den Spitznamen „Das Baby-Surface“, zeigt sich aber trotzdem überzeugt von dem Produkt und empfiehlt es sogar Privat-Anwendern.

Notebooks: Kursänderung beim Betriebssystem?

Im vierten Quartal 2023 erlebte die Notebook-Kategorie auf der ITscope-Plattform eine bemerkenswerte Kursänderung. Das Apple MacBook Air, 13.3″ von 2020 sticht im typischerweise von Windows-Produkten dominierten B2B-Umfeld heraus und schafft es auf Platz 1 der ITscope-Kategorie. Obwohl der Preis für das Apple MacBook Air, 13.3″ nur marginal sank erhielt es im vierten Quartal viel Aufmerksamkeit und wurde gut verkauft.

Lenovo-Notebooks waren im vierten Quartal besonders gefragt. Auf Platz 2 rangierte das Lenovo ThinkPad E16 Gen, laut ComputerBild ein robustes Arbeitstier. Das High-End-Notebook Lenovo ThinkBook 16p G4, ausgestattet mit einem Intel Core i9, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 und einem HEK von 1.715,13 €, eroberte Platz 3. Auffällig hier: Die Nachfrage für das Produkt auf ITscope stieg insbesondere dann, wenn der Lagerbestand niedrig war. Die Kombination aus leistungsstarker CPU und GPU macht das Notebook sowohl für anspruchsvolle Business-Aufgaben als auch für kreative Anwendungen attraktiv.

Das Lenovo ThinkPad E16, eine günstigere Alternative mit einem AMD Ryzen 5-Prozessor, positioniert sich auf Platz 4 als attraktive Wahl für preisbewusste Käufer. Auf dem achten Platz findet sich das Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 2, das sich durch einen dreijährigen Lenovo Premium-Support auszeichnet – ideal für professionelle Nutzer, die großen Wert auf Zuverlässigkeit und Service legen, mit einem HEK von 2.452,41 € hat das aber auch seinen Preis.

Hervorheben lässt sich außerdem das Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Yoga Gen 4 auf Platz 10, das zum HEK von 1.603,46 € mit seiner Flexibilität als Convertible und dem leistungsstarken i7-Prozessor punktet. Schließlich rundete das Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 5 die Liste ab, ein solides Business-Notebook zu einem HEK von 769,18 €, das auf Platz 11 landet.

Dockingstationen: Durch die Gezeiten mit USB-C und Thunderbolt

Dockingstationen sind aus dem Business-Alltag nicht mehr wegzudenken: Sie verbinden Notebooks mit Peripheriegeräten, Bildschirmen und ermöglichen hybride Arbeitsmodelle. Das Lenovo ThinkPad Universal Thunderbolt 4 Dock, mit 2.483 Klicks auf Platz 2, wurde von Chip.de als eines der besten Thunderbolt-Docks ausgezeichnet. Es kombiniert hohe Übertragungsgeschwindigkeiten mit einer Vielzahl an Anschlüssen und stellt eine Top-Wahl für Nutzer mit hohen Anforderungen dar.

Dell und HP sind ebenfalls stark in dieser Kategorie vertreten. Die Dell WD19S Dockingstation mit USB-C, HDMI und DisplayPort-Anschlüssen sowie einer Leistung von 130 Watt belegt den dritten Platz. HPs USB-C Dock G5, ebenfalls mit USB-C-Anschlüssen, einem GigE-Anschluss und einer Leistung von 100 Watt, folgt auf Platz 4.

Das Lenovo ThinkPad Hybrid USB-C/-A Dock und das Lenovo ThinkPad Thunderbolt 4 WorkStation Dock, letzteres das teuerste Dock in den Top 15 mit 2.152 Klicks, bieten erweiterte Anschlussmöglichkeiten und sind besonders für professionelle Anwender interessant. Auf Platz 10 findet sich das preisgünstigste Produkt in den Top 10, das HP USB-C/A Universal Dock G2.

Speziell für Microsoft Surface-Produkte ist das Microsoft Surface Dock 2 gedacht, das mit seinem Surface Connect-Kabel eine spezifische Lösung bietet und auf Platz 11 landet. Die Dockingstation ist nicht universell einsetzbar.

PC-Komplettsysteme: Lenovo setzt die Segel

Bei den PC-Komplettsysteme geht es wieder aufwärts: Zwar liegen die Klickzahlen in ITscope noch immer unter denen vom Vorjahr, der Abstand ist aber deutlich geringer als noch in Q3.

PC-Komplettsysteme sind im vierten Quartal 2023 wieder mehr gefragt.

In der Kategorie der PC-Komplettsysteme hat sich das Lenovo ThinkCentre M70q Gen 3 11T300BWGE mit bemerkenswerten 6.367 Klicks als Highflyer des vierten Quartals 2023 an die Spitze gesetzt. Das System besticht durch einen ausgewogenen Mix aus leistungsstarker Mittelklasse-CPU vom Typ i5 12400T und einer großzügigen Speicherausstattung, die mit 16 GB RAM und 512 GB Speicher für eine beachtliche Alltagsperformance sorgt. Die kompaktere Variante des Lenovo ThinkCentre M70q Gen 3 11T300B3GE, die sich den fünften Platz sichern konnte, bietet mit derselben CPU und der Hälfte des Speichers – 8 GB RAM und 256 GB – eine kostengünstigere Option. Der HEK Preisunterschied zwischen den beiden Varianten beträgt 86,31 €, was die kleinere Version zu einer attraktiven Alternative für Budget-bewusste Käufer macht.

Das Dell OptiPlex 7010 System erfährt ebenfalls Aufwind und sichert sich mit seinem Core i5 13500T den vierten Platz. Auf dem sechsten Platz, von Rang 80 aufgestiegen, befindet sich die HP Workstation Z2 G9, einer der wenigen Tower-PCs in den vorderen Rängen der ITscope-Kategorie. Die Workstation, ausgestattet mit einem leistungsstarken i7-Prozessor, weist einen Händlereinkaufspreis (HEK) von 1.201,26 € auf.

Die Lenovo M75q Workstation auf Platz 9 bietet mit einem AMD Ryzen 5 Prozessor bei 3,2 GHz eine leistungsstarke Option. Der Lenovo ThinkCentre M70t Gen 3 auf Platz 12 komplettiert das Angebot an Lenovo-Komplettsystemen und unterstreicht die Vielfalt der Marke im Segment.

Derzeit nicht zu erhalten ist indes der HP Elite 600 G9 828Z0AT#ABD, ein Mini-PC mit Core i5-Prozessor. Seit Mitte Dezember ist der Lagerbestand bei allen ITscope-Lieferanten auf 0 zurückgegangen. Nichtsdestotrotz schafft es das Komplettsystem noch auf 699 Klicks auf ITscope.

SSDs:  Samsung am Ruder

Solid State Disks (SSDs), bekannt für ihre schnelle Datenübertragung und Energieeffizienz, sind aus dem modernen IT-Alltag nicht mehr wegzudenken und überflügeln nun klassische Festplatten (HDDs) an Popularität auf ITscope. Trotz ihrer Vormachtstellung bleiben HDDs in bestimmten Anwendungsbereichen weiterhin relevant. Alexander Stikel, Junior IT Systems Engineer bei ITscope, erläutert: „Für die Speicherung großer Datenmengen, zum Beispiel für Backups, werden noch hauptsächlich HDDs eingesetzt. Sie bieten eine günstigere Alternative bei der Archivierung von Daten, wo es nicht auf die Geschwindigkeit ankommt.“

SSDs werden auf ITscope im vierten Quartal 2023 mehr geklickt als herkömmliche HDDs.

In der Kategorie der SSDs dominiert Samsung das Feld mit einer Reihe von Modellen, die für ihre Zuverlässigkeit und Kompatibilität bekannt sind. Die EVO-Serie, konzipiert für Consumer, nutzt die TLC (Triple-Level Cell) NAND-Flash-Technologie, während die leistungsstärkeren PRO-Modelle auf MLC (Multi-Level Cell) Technologie mit 2 Bits pro Zelle setzen. Die QVO-Serie mit QLC (Quad-Level Cell)-Technologie, obwohl preiswert, hat sich im B2B-Bereich nicht durchgesetzt. Alle diese SSDs sind zum Einbau vorgesehen. Auffällig ist, dass die Preise für einige PRO-Modelle im vierten Quartal gestiegen sind. Eine signifikante Entwicklung ist außerdem die zunehmende Verbreitung des PCIe4.0-Standards. Die SSDs mit PCIe4.0 bieten höhere Übertragungsraten und unterstützen so eine schnellere und effizientere Verarbeitung von Daten in Echtzeit. Modelle mit PCIe4.0-Schnittstelle, wie die Samsung 980 PRO und die Samsung 990 PRO Serie, erfreuen sich großer Beliebtheit, was ihre Relevanz für anspruchsvolle IT-Projekte unterstreicht.

An der Spitze der Klickzahlen steht die mit 500 GB und 3.144 Klicks die Samsung 870 EVO MZ-77E500B, gefolgt von der Samsung 980 PRO MZ-V8P1T0BW mit 1 TB und 2.702 Klicks. Bemerkenswert ist der Highflyer des Quartals, die Samsung 990 PRO MZ-V9P4T0BW mit 4 TB, deren Preis seit ihrer Einführung deutlich gestiegen ist.

Drucker: Eine Branche segelt durch schwierige Gewässer

In der Kategorie der Drucker und Multifunktionsgeräte finden sich selten Innovationen, und so dominieren auch in diesem Quartal altbekannte Modelle wie der HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw, der bereits seit 2019 auf dem Markt ist. Die Gründe für das nachlassende Interesse könnten die mangelnden Neuerungen sein, wahrscheinlicher ist jedoch die fortschreitende, branchenübergreifende Digitalisierung. Das Jahr 2023 gestaltete sich für Drucker als herausfordernd: Schon seit Januar zeigte sich auf ITscope ein geringeres Interesse im Vergleich zum Vorjahr, und im vierten Quartal setzte sich dieser Trend mit einem weiteren Rückgang fort. Drucker und Multifunktionsgeräte werden auf ITscope weniger geklickt.

Prozessoren: Intel mit der 14. Generation auf Überholkurs

Im vierten Quartal 2023 zeigt sich bei den Prozessoren auf der ITscope-Plattform eine klare Präferenz für AMD. Der AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, ein 8-Core-Prozessor mit Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT), 4,2 GHz Taktrate und einem beeindruckenden 96MB L3-Cache, führt die Kategorie mit 1.472 Klicks an. Besonders interessant ist die aktuelle Entwicklung im CPU-Markt mit der Einführung der 14. Generation von Intel aka Core Ultra. Laut WinFuture und ComputerBild verspricht diese Generation eine erhebliche Leistungssteigerung. In diese dynamische Marktsituation steigt der Intel Core i7 i7-14700K, ein 20-Core Prozessor mit 28 Threads und 3,4 GHz, als ITscope-Highflyer auf Platz 4 ein und bestätigt damit das wachsende Interesse an Intels neuer Prozessorengeneration auf ITscope.

Der neue Hochleistungs-Prozessor Intel Core i9 i9-14900KF mit 32 Threads und 3,2 GHz, sichert sich Rang 9 in der Kategorie CPUs. Laut PC Games Hardware wurden mit dem i9-14900KF neue Weltrekorde im Overclocking aufgestellt, Damit ist der Prozessor nicht nur für anspruchsvolle Gamer und Enthusiasten geeignet, sondern auch für professionelle Anwender, die maximale Leistung benötigen.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max topped the popularity rankings with 3,804 clicks and was the first smartphone ever to receive the test rating „very good“ from Stiftung Warentest. „Apple is not only successful in the consumer sector with its current iPhone series, but also in the professional environment,“ says Oliver Gorges, Director Sales & Marketing at ITscope. „The convergence of the B2B & B2C target groups is continuing to increase here – this can be seen in our sales statistics.“

The Apple iPad Wi-Fi, 10.2 also maintained its top position in the tablet segment – in a year without any iPad launches. In the notebook segment, the Apple MacBook Air, 13.3″ from 2020 stood out as the unexpected leader. A change of course in the B2B environment, which is predominantly dominated by Windows products? „The MacBook Air from 2020 is a good, solid notebook and, thanks to the M1 chip, is suitable for many purposes, both privately and professionally,“ comments ITscope CEO Benjamin Mund. „Nevertheless, most offices continue to rely on a Windows environment, which gives them more flexibility.“

Stormy seas for the printer industry

The printer industry experienced a challenging year in 2023, with a downward trend despite the dominance of familiar models. Oliver Gorges comments: „The printer industry is facing major challenges. Advancing digitalization and the shift towards paperless working environments are forcing manufacturers to rethink their strategies and focus on innovative solutions.“

Samsung’s SSDs set the course

SSDs (Solid State Drives) are now more popular on ITscope than traditional hard disk drives (HDDs). Samsung has maintained its leading position in this area with a range of high-performance models, some of which have even increased in retail price (RRP). The increasing spread of the PCIe4.0 standard is also noteworthy. HDDs still have their raison d’être, for example for storing large amounts of data and backups.

Highflyer: On a voyage of discovery with the top innovations

The ITscope Highflyers present the exciting new releases in the ITC sector that are causing a particular stir on ITscope. For each product category, the new item with the most clicks is chosen as the Highflyer.

Number 1: A complete system from Lenovo

One brand name in particular stands out in the fourth quarter of 2023: Apple. The Californian manufacturer’s newly launched products are clicked on frequently and are also en vogue in the B2B sector. However, the Lenovo ThinkCentre M70q Gen 3 11T3 complete PC system, which already shone as the top newcomer in the previous quarters and remains in the lead with 6,367 clicks, did not make it to the top position.

New Apple products dominate the top list

Among the new Apple products entering as top products, the iPhone 15 Pro Max stands out, making it to second place among the ITscope high flyers. The cell phone is rated by Computer Bild as „the largest, most expensive and best equipped iPhone to date“ with a score of 1.4. The new Apple AirPods Pro 2 in third place also proved to be the most popular new headphones with 1,589 clicks. Despite the fact that new functions, such as the microphone control of the AirPods, can only be fully used with the latest iOS, they remain a favorite according to Golem. Other Apple products in the high-flyer positions in the notebook category are the MacBook Pro, described by Golem as „an almost perfect notebook“, and the Apple Watch Ultra 2, which tops the smartwatch leaderboard according to Chip.de and is the most popular wearable in ITscope. The Apple Pencil also made it into the high flyers with 461 clicks as an input device. The stylus is praised by ComputerBild for its numerous functions and low price.

PC components for professionals

In the area of graphics cards, MSI attracts attention with the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti GAMING X SLIM 12G, which is ranked 5th in the ITscope Highflyers. With its compact dimensions and efficient cooling concept, as highlighted by PC Games Hardware and HardwareLuxx, it is an interesting option for users looking for a powerful graphics card.

The SSD (Solid State Drive) Samsung 990 PRO MZ-V9P4T0BW in 7th place is particularly suitable for high-end gaming and graphics processing. It stands out due to its increasing HEK and its single-sided assembly, which according to HardwareLuxx offers practical advantages in temperature management.

The Intel Corei7-14700K, part of Intel’s refresh range of Raptor Lake processors, achieves 807 clicks. Despite mixed reviews of the entire refresh, the i7 performs better than its i5 and i9 counterparts, as ComputerBase reports.

Technology trends in B2B

The most popular new tablet PC is the Microsoft Surface Go 4 for Business, an affordable convertible with a MSRP of €592.95. The high demand for the device is reflected in the fact that it was only available from a few ITscope retailers in mid-December. This is also one reason for the exceptionally high number of clicks on ITscope – when availability is low, retailers often use the platform to research alternative sources of supply. In the meantime, stock of the tablet has recovered.

Also interesting, even if it didn’t make it into the top ten, is the new Dell UltraSharp TFT, which recorded 189 clicks. The monitor features IPS Black technology, which supports a wider viewing angle and offers improved color accuracy, especially in dark scenes. This shows that innovative screen technologies are of interest to professional users, especially when it comes to improved image quality and color contrasts.

Cell phones: The iPhone 15 navigates to the top

In the fourth quarter of 2023, the cell phone category on the ITscope platform experienced a notable increase in clicks, particularly due to the launch of Apple’s new iPhone 15 series. Compared to the previous quarter, the total number of clicks on the platform and even in a year-on-year comparison with the fourth quarter of 2022, demand was above average. The sales trend on ITscope also jumped at times.

The iPhone 15 models are selling well: here is an example of the iPhone 15 Pro, which was sold 1,188 times on ITscope on December 29 alone, as the sales trend shows.

The Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max model was at the forefront of this dynamic, taking first place in the category with 3,804 clicks. The flagship model is available at a retail price (RRP) of €1,206.43 and is characterized by features such as the Super Retina XDR display with 2796 x 1290 pixels at 460 ppi, the A16 processor and a high-quality camera system. It is particularly noteworthy that Stiftung Warentest has awarded a „very good“ rating to a smartphone for the first time, underlining the high quality and performance of the iPhone 15 series, especially the Pro Max model.

The Apple iPhone 15 achieved fifth place with a HEK of €777.14 and 2,234 clicks. It outperformed its predecessor, the iPhone 14, in terms of reviews and value for money, as a comparison at Stern.de shows. The iPhone 15 Pro followed in sixth place with 1,862 clicks.

Tablets: A year without new iPads – calm seas or storm?

In the fourth quarter of 2023, the Apple iPad Wi-Fi, 10.2″ maintained its position as the overall most popular product on the ITscope platform, a remarkable achievement in a year with no new iPad launches. According to WinFuture, Apple is not planning to update its entire tablet range until 2024.

Since the second quarter of 2023, a clear trend has emerged on the ITscope platform: tablets are enjoying increasing popularity, which manifests itself in a significant increase in the number of clicks compared to the previous year. This development is also confirmed in relation to the total number of clicks on ITscope. The continuing interest in tablets underlines their growing importance in the technology sector and the ongoing demand in the professional sector.

While Apple is the clear leader in the mid-range price segment, Microsoft was strong in the high-end segment with products such as the Microsoft Surface Pro 9 for Business (2nd place with 2,830 clicks, €1,600.93 RRP). This ranks well ahead of the Apple 12.9-inch iPad Pro (16th place with 841 clicks, €1,430.73 RRP). Cheaper models such as the Samsung Tab A8 (€151.13 RRP), on the other hand, dominate the lower price range

A new high-flyer in 9th place is the Microsoft Surface Go 4 for Business, XHU-00004. Dr. Windows nicknamed the tablet „The Baby Surface“, but is still impressed by the product and even recommends it to private users.

Notebooks: change of course for the operating system?

In the fourth quarter of 2023, the notebook category on the ITscope platform underwent a remarkable change of course. The Apple MacBook Air, 13.3″ from 2020 stands out in the B2B environment typically dominated by Windows products and makes it to number 1 in the ITscope category. Benjamin Mund, CEO of ITscope, comments: „The MacBook Air has established itself as a typical Black Friday product – solid and now at a relatively affordable price, even if there have been no drastic price cuts.“ Another newcomer, the Apple MacBook Pro MRX33D/A, impressed with a jump from 0 to 15th place.

Although the price of the Apple MacBook Air, 13.3″ fell only marginally, it received a lot of attention in the fourth quarter and sold well.

Lenovo notebooks were particularly popular in the fourth quarter. In second place was the Lenovo ThinkPad E16 Gen, a robust workhorse according to ComputerBild. The high-end Lenovo ThinkBook 16p G4 notebook, equipped with an Intel Core i9, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 and a MSRP of €1,715.13, took third place: Demand for the product on ITscope increased especially when stock was low. The combination of a powerful CPU and GPU makes the notebook attractive for both demanding business tasks and creative applications.

The Lenovo ThinkBook 16p G4, showed high demand, especially when stock was low

The Lenovo ThinkPad E16, a cheaper alternative with an AMD Ryzen 5 processor, is positioned in fourth place as an attractive choice for price-conscious buyers. In eighth place is the Lenovo ThinkPad P16 Gen 2, which is characterized by three years of Lenovo Premium Support – ideal for professional users who attach great importance to reliability and service, but with a MSRP of €2,452.41, this also has its price.

We would also like to highlight the Lenovo ThinkPad X13 Yoga Gen 4 in 10th place, which scores with its flexibility as a convertible and the powerful i7 processor at an MSRP of €1,603.46. Finally, the Lenovo ThinkPad E14 Gen 5 rounded off the list, a solid business notebook with a MSRP of €769.18, which landed in 11th place.

Docking stations: Through the tides with USB-C and Thunderbolt

Docking stations have become an integral part of everyday business life: they connect notebooks with peripherals and screens and enable hybrid working models. The type of connection, such as USB-C or Thunderbolt, and the performance are decisive factors in the selection process. Despite their standardized appearance, docking stations have a variety of differences that are reflected in key features such as charging speed (wattage), data transfer and multi-monitor support. These key features are driving a lot of market movement and present companies with the challenge of finding the ideal model from a wide range of options. Docking stations that offer a variety of different connections and functions are proving to be particularly popular as they enable high compatibility with different devices and usage scenarios.

At the top of the ITscope charts is the Lenovo ThinkPad Universal USB-C Dock 40AY0090EU with 90 watts and an impressive 7,798 clicks. This universal dock, which has proven itself in independent tests such as those conducted by the FAZ, is not only suitable for the popular Lenovo ThinkPads, but also offers broad compatibility with other devices.

The Lenovo ThinkPad Universal Thunderbolt 4 Dock, ranked second with 2,483 clicks, was named one of the best Thunderbolt docks by Chip.de. It combines high transfer speeds with a variety of ports and is a top choice for users with high demands.

Dell and HP are also strongly represented in this category. The Dell WD19S docking station with USB-C, HDMI and DisplayPort connections and an output of 130 watts takes third place. HP’s USB-C Dock G5, also with USB-C ports, a GigE port and an output of 100 watts, follows in fourth place.

The Lenovo ThinkPad Hybrid USB-C/-A Dock and the Lenovo ThinkPad Thunderbolt 4 WorkStation Dock, the latter the most expensive dock in the top 15 with 2,152 clicks, offer extended connectivity options and are particularly interesting for professional users. In 10th place is the most affordable product in the top 10, the HP USB-C/A Universal Dock G2.

The Microsoft Surface Dock 2, which offers a specific solution with its Surface Connect cable, is specially designed for Microsoft Surface products and comes in 11th place. The docking station cannot be used universally.

Complete PC systems: Lenovo sets the sails

Things are looking up again for complete PC systems: Although the click figures in ITscope are still below those of the previous year, the gap is significantly smaller than in Q3.

PC complete systems are in greater demand again in the fourth quarter of 2023

In the category of complete PC systems, the Lenovo ThinkCentre M70q Gen 3 11T300BWGE came out on top as the high-flyer of the fourth quarter of 2023 with a remarkable 6,367 clicks. The system impresses with a balanced mix of a powerful mid-range i5 12400T CPU and a generous memory configuration with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage for remarkable everyday performance. The more compact variant of the Lenovo ThinkCentre M70q Gen 3 11T300B3GE, which secured fifth place, offers a more affordable option with the same CPU and half the storage – 8 GB RAM and 256 GB. The MSRP difference between the two variants is €86.31, making the smaller version an attractive alternative for budget-conscious buyers.

The Dell OptiPlex 7010 system is also on the rise, securing fourth place with its Core i5 13500T. In sixth place, up from 80th place, is the HP Workstation Z2 G9, one of the few tower PCs in the top ranks of the ITscope category. The workstation, equipped with a powerful i7 processor, has a retail price (RRP) of €1,201.26.

The Lenovo M75q workstation in 9th place offers a powerful option with an AMD Ryzen 5 processor at 3.2 GHz. The Lenovo ThinkCentre M70t Gen 3 in 12th place completes the range of Lenovo complete systems and underlines the brand’s diversity in the segment.

However, the HP Elite 600 G9 828Z0AT#ABD, a mini PC with a Core i5 processor, is currently not available. Since mid-December, stock levels at all ITscope suppliers have fallen to 0. Nevertheless, the complete system still makes it to 699 clicks on ITscope.

SSDs: Samsung at the helm

SSDs, known for their fast data transfer and energy efficiency, have become an integral part of modern IT and are now outstripping traditional hard disks (HDDs) in popularity on ITscope. Despite their supremacy, HDDs remain relevant in certain application areas. Alexander Stikel, Junior IT Systems Engineer at ITscope, explains: „HDDs are still mainly used for storing large amounts of data, for example for backups. They offer a more cost-effective alternative for archiving data where speed is not an issue.“

SSDs are clicked more on ITscope in the fourth quarter of 2023 than conventional HDDs.

In the SSD category, Samsung dominates the field with a range of models known for their reliability and compatibility. The EVO series, designed for consumers, uses TLC (Triple-Level Cell) NAND flash technology, while the more powerful PRO models rely on MLC (Multi-Level Cell) technology with 2 bits per cell. The QVO series with QLC (Quad-Level Cell) technology, although inexpensive, has not established itself in the B2B sector. All of these SSDs are intended for installation. It is noticeable that the prices for some PRO models rose in the fourth quarter. Another significant development is the increasing spread of the PCIe4.0 standard. SSDs with PCIe4.0 offer higher transfer rates and thus support faster and more efficient processing of data in real time. Models with PCIe4.0 interface, such as the Samsung 980 PRO and the Samsung 990 PRO series, are very popular, which underlines their relevance for demanding IT projects.

The Samsung 870 EVO MZ-77E500B with 500 GB and 3,144 clicks is at the top of the click count, followed by the Samsung 980 PRO MZ-V8P1T0BW with 1 TB and 2,702 clicks. Noteworthy is the high-flyer of the quarter, the Samsung 990 PRO MZ-V9P4T0BW with 4 TB, whose price has risen significantly since its introduction.

Printers: An industry sailing through difficult waters

Innovation is rare in the printer and multifunctional device category, and this quarter is once again dominated by well-known models such as the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw, which has been on the market since 2019. The reasons for the declining interest could be the lack of innovations, but more likely it is the ongoing digitalization across industries. The year 2023 proved to be a challenging one for printers: ITscope has been showing less interest compared to the previous year since January, and this trend continued in the fourth quarter with a further decline.

Printers and multifunction devices are clicked on less on ITscope.

Processors: Intel on an overtaking course with the 14th generation

In the fourth quarter of 2023, there is a clear preference for AMD when it comes to processors on the ITscope platform. The AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, an 8-core processor with simultaneous multithreading (SMT), a clock speed of 4.2 GHz and an impressive 96 MB L3 cache, leads the category with 1,472 clicks. Close behind in second place is the AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, which boasts 16 cores, SMT, also 4.2 GHz and an even larger 128MB L3 cache.

The current development in the CPU market with the introduction of the 14th generation of Intel aka Core Ultra is particularly interesting. According to WinFuture and ComputerBild, this generation promises a considerable increase in performance. The Intel Core i7 i7-14700K, a 20-core processor with 28 threads and 3.4 GHz, enters this dynamic market situation as ITscope Highflyer in 4th place, confirming the growing interest in Intel’s new generation of processors on ITscope.

The new high-performance Intel Core i9 i9-14900KF processor with 32 threads and 3.2 GHz secured 9th place in the CPUs category. According to PC Games Hardware, the i9-14900KF has set new world records in overclocking, making the processor suitable not only for demanding gamers and enthusiasts, but also for professional users who require maximum performance.
