| Die Linux Foundation hat die Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF) gestartet, die drei wichtige Projekte zusammenführt, die die Entwicklung von KI-Agenten im letzten Jahr geprägt haben. Die Stiftung bietet eine herstellerneutrale Governance für das Model Context Protocol von Anthropic, das Goose-Framework von Block und den AGENTS.md-Standard von OpenAI und wird von acht Platin-Mitgliedern unterstützt, darunter Amazon Web Services, Google und Microsoft.

Cloudflare unterstützt seit der Einführung des Protokolls Remote-MCP-Implementierungen und wird über die Stiftung zur Entwicklung von Standards beitragen. The Linux Foundation announced the formation of the Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF), bringing together three key projects that have shaped AI agent development over the past year. The foundation provides vendor-neutral governance for Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol, Block’s goose framework, and OpenAI’s AGENTS.md standard, with backing from eight platinum members including Amazon Web Services, Google, and Microsoft.
The foundation launches with three founding projects: Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol (MCP), which enables AI models to access external applications and data; Block’s goose, a framework for building AI agent workflows; and OpenAI’s AGENTS.md, a standardized format for providing project-specific guidance to AI coding assistants. MCP has been adopted by major AI platforms including Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, and ChatGPT since its November 2024 release. More than 10,000 MCP servers have been published, covering use cases from developer tools to enterprise deployments on AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure. Mike Krieger, Chief Product Officer at Anthropic, said the protocol began as an internal solution before open sourcing. Anthropic is transferring MCP governance to the Linux Foundation while continuing technical contributions to the project. Block released goose in early 2025 as a local-first agent framework that integrates with MCP. Manik Surtani, Head of Open Source at Block, characterized the foundation as a mechanism to prevent proprietary control over agentic AI infrastructure. OpenAI contributed AGENTS.md, released in August 2025, which has been adopted by more than 60,000 open source projects. The markdown-based standard provides consistent instructions to AI coding agents across different codebases and build systems. The foundation’s platinum membership tier includes Amazon Web Services, Anthropic, Block, Bloomberg, Cloudflare, Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI. Gold members include Adyen, Cisco, Datadog, Docker, IBM, JetBrains, Oracle, Salesforce, SAP, Shopify, and Snowflake, among others. Bloomberg’s Chief Technology Officer Shawn Edwards described MCP as necessary infrastructure for building AI systems that perform complex reasoning in financial services environments, noting the company’s commitment to extending the specification for regulated industries. Cloudflare has supported remote MCP implementations since the protocol’s introduction and will contribute to standards development through the foundation. Google Cloud’s Richard Seroter cited the need for shared standards to enable widespread adoption of agent technologies. The foundation has taken over the MCP Dev Summit events, previously organized by member company Obot.ai. The next summit is scheduled for April 2-3, 2026, in New York City, with a European event to be announced.
